ROSSIE SPIT is a finger of land jutting into Montrose Bay and near a viaduct bridge.
It's not a walk as can be viewed near the roadside and is very close to the Wildlife Centre


OYSTER CATCHER [Haematopus ostralegus]

Left foreground is a good number of OYSTER CATCHER
[Haematopus ostralegus] and standing amongst them is one of
10 GREY HERON [Ardea cinerea] that were seen.
In the water in background are male [colourful] and female WIGEON
[Anas penelope] on November 14, 2021

COLLARED DOVE [Streptopelia decaocto]

COMMON TERN [Sterna hirundo]
Right are 3 tern [black caps, orange beak] beside larger black-headed gull in winter plumage of smudged head. September 8, 2022


SAND MARTIN [Riparia riparia]
Zipping around sky by the nesting blocks at Murton Farm, however this one posed outside its nesting hole. June 2, 2023

GOLDCREST [Regulus regulus]
Not a clear photo of this greenish ball of feathers but it shows the bright yellow head crest which gives the bird name and makes it a female as male has orange crest. Wouldn't stop for a moment and I couldn't get a shot in focus. February 11, 2024, at Murton Farm
